Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and with that comes great food, family time, and good memories for all.
Thanksgiving was originally a three day feast put on by the colonists for the Wampanoag Indians in 1621.
The winter before had wiped out more than half of the passengers of the Mayflower from exposure, diseases, and scurvy.
The Wampanoag Indians taught the early pilgrims how to plant and sow their crops.
That November, in 1621, is when they organized a great celebration to give thanks to the Indians that helped them.
It wasn't until 200 years later that Thankgiving became a national holiday, proclaimed by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War.
