I don't like how the Avatar box changes size depending on the size of a persons icon.
I'm jsut used to the regular Avatar spot where it was always one size, if ya know what I mean, but I'm jsut anal like that.

And I see what Black and Orez are talking about.

From looking at your screenie, I can see that you have everything disabled.

What you're going to need to do:

Go to your User Control Panel, then click on "Board Preferences" on the far left. Then you'll see an option for "Edit posting defaults". Click that, and Enable smilies by default.
Might also want to enable everything else.

Somehow your preferences may have gotten changed. o.o

On your screen all it says on the lower left is "BBCode is OFF".

Mine says:
BBCode is ON
[img] is ON
[flash] Is ON
[url] is ON
Smilies are ON

I'm not the biggest fan of phpBB, I actually greatly prefer the old forum host, But I'm not on here often enough to complain too much.. haha.

It is nice to see a change though. Good job. :)

Yup. The old forum was phpBB2. This is phpBB3

And for your avatar, unlike phpBB2, this one will keep avatars within the proper size limits, even if remotely linked. phpBB2 didn't do that.

Gotta run out soon, but when I get back, I'll try and figure out the emoticon and signature issue.
